For the electric two-wheeler segment in India, October proves to be the best month ever. Being the festive month, the EV two-wheeler makers accomplish more than 75,000 unit sales last month. This records a number which is more than 30 percent of what they sold during the last year’s festive month. Whereas this number is substantially higher than the September sales number. That was the highest ever till October. Notably, this surge in EV two-wheelers sales of last month was led by Ola Electric and Okinawa Autotech. Ola Electric

Ola Electric is recorded as the number one electric two-wheeler maker in India so far. Noticeably, October is the consecutive month when Ola has placed at the top of the list. This Tamil Nadu-based EV manufacturer claims that it has sold 20,000 units of its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters. This has been the record for the company by the time of the launch of the model which was back in August 2021. Although, as per the Vahan portal, Ola sold only 15,065 units, this number is also way ahead of other EV two-wheeler makers.

Okinawa Autotech

Okinawa Autotech is basically a Rajasthan-based EV manufacturer, it also hits its highest monthly sales numbers in October. Whereby, the company has disclosed that it sold 17,531 units last month. As per, Jeetender Sharma, MD & Founder, Okinawa Autotech, as they explain the rise in sales.

“The customer sentiment has been improving post-pandemic and we are confident to carry forward this sales momentum in the coming months.”

Ampere

This electric two-wheeler maker company is owned by Greaves Cotton. This comes at third place to be the biggest EV maker in October. Talking about the numbers then the company sold 9,173 units of its electric scooters in October.

Hero Electric

Notably, Hero Electric also saw a huge jump in sales last month as compared to the September figures. It sold 8,348 units in October, which is slightly higher than the 8,018 units of its previous month’s sales.

Ather Energy

This electric two-wheeler comes at fifth place, as it also records a rise in sales during October. The jump is two-fold over the same month last year. As they sold out 8213 units of 450X and other of its EVs. Ather records a significant 122 percent year-on-year growth. While Ather had delivered 250 units of Ather 450X in a single day in Bengaluru on Diwali.
