A new “Night Series” style for fans of black has been introduced by Mercedes-Maybach, less than a month after debuting its first entirely electric vehicle, the EQS 680 SUV. Along with the EQS SUV, these designs are used across a number of Maybach vehicles and offer a variety of unique and exclusive characteristics both inside and out. We Hope you appreciate the Maybach logo…
In mid-April, Mercedes-Maybach publicly presented its own take on the EQS 680 SUV after a little teasering from the premium luxury sub-brand of Mercedes-Benz. We had the opportunity to view it up close and sit inside when travelling to Lisbon with the EQE SUV.
We lost count until we were well into our thirties when it came to the number of brand insignia incorporated into the design of Mercedes-Maybach’s first entirely electric vehicle. Don’t worry; the pictures below will show you more of that. The original exterior of the SUV has a special two-tone paintwork that has an ornamental pinstripe that may be ordered in one solid colour or five various colour combinations.
When we commented at the time on how much chrome was on the beefed-up EQS SUV, one of the vehicle’s designers informed us that Maybach had begun looking into a blacked-out edition to appeal to younger customers who might find all that chrome a touch “too much.” We’re now discussing the Night Series, a darker, more covert variant of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV, roughly a month later.
Maybach puts its portfolio—which includes the EQS SUV—on night shift
Mercedes-Maybach unveiled its brand-new Night Series for the EQS SUV, GLS, and S-Class this evening. According to the press release, Mercedes-Maybach introduces Night Series, the next step in the brand’s aim to develop its carefully picked portfolio and produce magical moments. It has eye-catching details like dark chrome accents, shiny surfaces that shimmer like cut jewels, and luxurious interiors that push Maybach style to new heights. Night Series transcends tradition to arouse new audiences’ enthusiasm for the brand with an innovative and forward-thinking plot.
Maybach has included the following components into each of the new Night Series’ three individually crafted looks for each of its vehicles:
• Dark Chrome elements.
• Dark-glossy Maybach pattern on the wheel design.
• Rose Gold highlights
• Herringbone interior accents
• Exclusive Night Series start-up animation for the MBUX system and Special ambient lighting
The brand has put the Maybach insignia in rose gold with dark chrome embellishments to the headlamps of the EQS SUV particularly. They are complemented by a front grill panel with darkening pinstripes over the front air intakes’ dark chrome-plated Maybach logo design.
The running board is also covered in black and is decorated with dark chrome Maybach insignia. The Night Series package, like the original Maybach electric SUV, is available in either a single solid colour—Obsidian Black or MANUFAKTUR Diamond White—or a special two-tone external finish (Obsidian Black/Mojave Silver).
Econyl carpet and vegetable-tanned Nappa Leather in two different colourways – MANUFAKTUR Crystal White with Black Pearl or MANUFAKTUR Black Pearl with contrast topstitching—are featured inside the SUV.
The 2024 generation EV, which is anticipated to debut with its original 680 model later this year, will reportedly provide the Night Series variant of the EQS SUV.
