On Tuesday, Zypp Electric said that by 2024, it would provide 1 lakh electric scooters to the online meal delivery service Zomato.
According to the company, the relationship is an initiative of Zomato’s larger goal to be fully electrified by 2030.
“This collaboration will significantly reduce our carbon footprint while providing our customers with ecologically conscious last-mile delivery options, Mohit Sardana, COO of Zomato’s food delivery, stated, “We are eager collaborating together to achieve more effective and environmentally responsible deliveries.
Over 13,000 electric automobiles have already been put on the road by Zypp Electric, who has generated $37.5 million to date.
While there are currently plans to migrate to electric vehicles to cut expenses, all 2-wheelers utilised for food delivery now run mostly on fuel. Our goal is to create a more effective, sustainable, and customer-focused delivery experience by utilising our EV fleet management system and cutting-edge partner solutions, according to Tushar Mehta, COO and Co-Founder of Zypp Electric.
In its series B fundraising in the month of February, the EV-as-a-service portal raised $25 million under the leadership of Gogoro, a major technical player in the battery switching ecosystem.
By 2025, Zypp hopes to expand to 30 Indian cities and grow its fleet from 10,000 to 200,000 electric automobiles thanks to the new funding.
Presently, Zypp offers EV solutions and delivery partners to a number of other companies, including Zomato, Swiggy, BigBasket, Amazon, Flipkart, Zepto, Blinkit, and many others.
