The Waze Android Automotive software, which was initially introduced in December, is now more widely available for the Polestar 2 as well as other Volvo vehicles.
In Europe, only the Renault Austral Hybrid and Megane E-Tech were initially offered, although further availability was promised for 2023.
The Volvo XC60 (above), Polestar 2 (below), and other automobiles in that family all have portrait displays that the app may be customised to work with. People may “access Waze’s real-time routing, navigation, alerts, settings, preferences, and saved places.” The “bigger, bolder navigation display” has numerous controls overlayed in the corners of the backdrop map, which substantially gains from the large screen.
We wanted to offer a one-time setup that ensures you can easily navigate the highways minus the need for a smartphone, since more drivers are moving away from utilising phone docks and USB cords in their vehicles.
The native app includes a “one-time setup” procedure and, according to Waze, “eliminates phone-related hassles and distractions owing to its embedded and wireless capabilities.” According to Waze, the company “developed and vetted the built-in app via an emulator and Volvo and Polestar 2 cars to provide the best feasible experience prior launching in customer cars.”
As part of Android Automotive, which includes Google apps like Maps and Assistant, “Waze on Google built-in” is now officially accessible “starting now for all Volvo car models with Google integrated and Polestar 2 in worldwide markets where Google’s Play Store is available.”
