At CES 2022, General Motors (GM) CEO Mary Barra unveiled the Chevy Blazer EV for the first time. Barra had another significant secret to reveal amid the all-electric Silverado EV occupying centre stage. The Blazer EV will be the initial Chevy electric car to have the sporty SS trim, according to Barra, who made the announcement during the ceremony.
Five trim levels, along with the 1LT, 2LT, RS, a police pursuit vehicle (PPV) version, and Chevy’s first SS electric performance variant, were included in the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV’s July 2017 unveiling by Chevrolet. The Blazer SS, according to Chevy vice president Scott Bell, “has the heart of a genuine sports car.”
The Specs
The Blazer EV SS, which is based on GM’s Ultium Platform, has an AWD system, close to 557 hp, and a range of 290 miles that GM estimates. It also has 648 lb-ft of torque.
According to the automaker, the “Wide Open Watts” (WOW) mode, which is comparable to the GMC Hummer EV’s “Watts to Freedom” (WTF) mode, permits 0 to 60 mph within about 4 seconds.
With its distinctive front grille, complete LED lighting, lighted “bowtie,” two-tone paint scheme, black rooftop and A-pillars, and customary 22-inch wheels, the SS trim will have the most aggressive styling in the series.
