Tesla has modified the recommendations for cargo distribution of weight and maximum weight constraints in the user manual. The previous recommendations advised spreading the weight of the luggage over the front and back trunks. The front trunk’s maximum load weight was 25 kg (55 lbs), the rear load floor was 60 kg (130 lbs), and the bottom boot section was 285 lbs (130 kg).
With the revised recommendations, Tesla advises dividing the weight of the load as equally as feasible among the front and back trunks. The front trunk’s load capacity weight has been raised to 110 lbs (50 kg). The main floor of the rear boot can store up to 287 lbs, while the bottom tub compartment can now hold a weight limit of 88 lbs (40 kg) (130 kg).
Maximum Weight Limitations | Earlier Guidelines | New Guidelines |
Frunk (Front Trunk) | 25 kg (55 lbs) | 50 kg (110 lbs) |
Lower Compartment Rear Trunk | 130 kg (285 lbs) | 40 kg (88 lbs) |
Upper Floor Rear Trunk | 60 kg (130 lbs) | 130 kg (287 lbs) |
All of Tesla’s vehicles, including the Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y, are subject to the new rules. These adjustments are intended to increase the vehicle’s overall stability and safety while transporting cargo. To guarantee maximum vehicle performance and safety, Tesla owners should get familiar with these new regulations.
