The ultra-fast compact EV charger has an integrated battery is coming to US market

ADS-TEC Energy recently unveiled its ChargePost, which is a compact battery-based EV charging system. The same enables ultra-fast charging without having the need to extend the existing grid. ChargePost is a compact design that combines the battery, electronics, cooling system, and charger all together in a compact container. The same has been revealed by ADS-TEC Energy that which requires less than 21.5 square feet (2 sq m) of ground space.

While each ChargePost is completely made in Germany. It is packed with two charging points that give up to 300 KW DC power with one charging point. Whereas 150 KW with two charging points is used parallelly. Furthermore, it has a configurable 143 or 201 KWh battery capacity. While its battery module can be swapped as per the requirement. It increases the charger’s longevity. ADS-TEC disclose that it only requires five minutes of charging at ChargePost for more than 100 km drive.

On the other hand, the integrated charging cable with an uncooled CC1/CCs2 connector is at least 3 meters long. While it has a 10-inch touchscreen interface and an “easy-to-use” payment terminal. With the first half of 2023, ChargePost will be capable of feeding stored energy back into the grid, and the same is also paired with solar as well.

DS-TEC also says that ChargePost can be set up quickly with a forklift and at the same time its installation is quite simple, which is plug and play. Since its a battery-based, it can connect directly to any existing, power-limited, low-voltage grid. Therefore it can be installed in a variety of locations. And that includes inner cities and rural areas as well where high voltage grids are often not present. While the ChargePost is available in the Europe market now and it’s expected to be launched in the United States in 2023 respectively.
